After entering your library number and clicking "Submit" a Choose Database webpage opens that looks like this

Scroll down and read through the list of databases. Master File Premier is already selected for you. Click on the check mark so that it disappears.  Scroll down and create a check mark by clicking on the box next to the best database for middle school students: Middle Search Plus.

After placing a check mark in the Middle Search Plus box, scroll to the top or bottom of the page and click on Continue.

The database will open to the Basic Search screen.  In order to search for articles less than one month old you need to use the Advanced Search screen.  Select the Advanced Search tab.

Type your science currents event topic in the Find window and scroll down to place limits on your search.

To restrict your search to articles less than a month old, scroll down and place a check mark next to "Full Text", which means the database will locate only complete articles, not summaries of articles.
Use the pull down menus to select the time frame you want to search.  For instance, it's September 29 and Ms. Mazzaglia wants articles less than a month old so  are looking for articles published from September 2003 to October 2003.

When you have finished filling the fields as in the example above.  Click on "Search".

The database located two articles.  Click on the title of the article to read the full-text article.

If you want to print the article, select print at the top of the page. 
If you have an e-mail address, you may select e-mail and send the article to yourself.
