International Space Station
Assignment:
1. Apply the "5 W's" to the
International Space Station that is orbiting the planet Earth as we speak.
In other words, use the Internet to find all the background information
concerning the space station. What countries contributed what sections of
it? How many different sections are there? How many people can live
in the space station at one time? What kinds of experiments do the
astronauts carry out? Why do we think it's necessary to have a space
station at all? Your information should answer any questions someone would
ask concerning the space station. Include a sketch of either one or all of
the sections of the space station. Label your sketch.
2. Assume the identity of one of the
current or past astronauts living on the space station. Write 2 or 3
entries that this astronaut might have written about themselves and their
experience on the station. Include as much factual information as
possible....age, gender, nationality, experience, qualifications, etc.
Include a sketch of the astronaut. This assignment choice requires a much
more refined Internet search; make sure you can locate the information before
your decide to do this one.
