Although this speech was electronically published in February 2003, it was presented to the Peabody Historical Society by S. M. Smoller in observance of the 225th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington.  The speech, entitled "Peabody Historical Society's Observance of the 225th Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington" was given on April 16, 2000 at the Gideon Foster House, 35 Washington Street, Peabody, Mass.
