Summer Reading - 2003   FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS about Summer Reading

All students are required to read two books for the Middle School Reading program.  In September, students will be asked to demonstrate that they have read their books by taking a test on Monday, September 8 and/or Tuesday, September 9.  All sixth and seventh grade students will be tested on the mandatory book and optional selection.  Eighth grade students will be tested on the mandatory book and complete a writing assignment on their optional selection.  All books read may be applied to the 20+ Reader Program.

Summer reading books are also available at the Peabody Institute Library.

Grade 7 - Class of 2008 (6th graders in 2003)
Grade 8 - Class of 2007 (7th graders in 2003)
he books selected at each grade level at the Higgins Middle School were chosen by the English Language Arts teachers.  The list was originally published in 2000 and was revised in March 2003.
